Beau Saunier PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT

Founder, Physical Therapist

Beau Saunier is a native of Delcambre, LA and graduated with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from the University of Louisiana – Lafayette in 2012. In 2015, Beau graduated with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of St. Augustine.

In 2020, Beau completed his orthopedic fellowship program (FAAOMPT). This is the highest level of training for physical therapists in orthopedics. This includes three years of didactic work, as well as 440 mentorship hours with a trained fellow. Beau has taken this a step further and helped to create and orthopedic residency program through Elite Therapy Solutions to help other physical therapists become specialists in the orthopedic field.

In 2021, Beau completed the Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) Exam. Orthopedic Clinical Specialists are recognized by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties as individuals whose clinical specialization in orthopedic physical therapy demonstrates knowledge, skill and experience exceeding that of an entry level physical therapist.

In his spare time, Beau enjoys exercising, playing music, and playing golf. Beau is also an avid reader and appreciates any book recommendations. He is also an avid Ragin’ Cajun and Saints fan and loves cheering them on during football season.

Melissa Heinitz Saunier PT, DPT

Physical Therapist

Melissa is originally from Emporia, KS, graduating from Wichita State University with a Bachelors of Arts in Exercise Science. She then had the opportunity to move to Cajun Country to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and earn her Master of Science degree in Kinesiology. She then moved to Austin, Texas, where she earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. 

Making her way back to Lafayette, where she and Beau now call home, she worked at an Inpatient Rehab unit for a little over 5 years, treating patients with a large variety of diagnoses, including neurologic, orthopedic, and cardiovascular detriments. She has primarily worked with an older adult population and enjoys helping them reach their goals the most. 

Other than being a PT, Melissa enjoys exercising and weightlifting in her home gym, traveling (especially to colder places or places to go hiking), trying new foods, and fostering dogs from Acadiana Animal Aid. She can also play the violin and participates in the Lafayette Community String Orchestra.

Chuck Ihli PT, DPT

Physical Therapist

Chuck is a native of Moss Bluff, Louisiana who graduated from McNeese State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology - Exercise Science. He then went on to graduate with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas in 2014. For the last 9 years, Chuck has worked with a diverse patient population between Home Health, Outpatient and Sports Medicine settings, treating both athletes and non-athletes alike.

He is Certified in Dry Needling and Blood Flow Restriction therapy.Outside of the clinic, Chuck remains highly active. He enjoys numerous outdoor activities such as hunting/fishing, hiking, running, as well as weight lifting and woodworking. In August of 2023, he completed his first Ultramarathon, Capt’n Karl’s 60k Colorado Bend Nighttime Trail run. He now resides in Broussard, LA with his wife Hannah, daughter, Jolie and his two sons, Owen and Oliver..

Kristy Peña, LMT

Licensed Massage Therapist

With over a decade of experience in the field, Kristy is a dedicated Licensed Massage Therapist committed to enhancing the well-being of her clients. Originally from Springfield, LA, she is certified in a variety of specialized techniques including: Sports Massage, Prenatal, Neuromuscular, Deep Tissue, Pelvic Floor, and Myofascial Therapy. Kristy’s diverse skillset allows her to tailor her approach to meet the unique needs of each individual, promoting health and relaxation.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Kristy lead a fulfilling life steeped in faith and family. A compassionate follower of Jesus, she balances her career with roles as both a mother and a community leader. Kristy serves as the Director of the Children’s Ministry at her church, where she nurtures and guides the next generation.

In her spare time, Kristy enjoys outdoor activities like fishing and horseback riding, as well as coffee dates with her husband. She is an enthusiastic supporter of her children’s sporting events and has a soft spot for hockey. Kristy’s vibrant personality and dedication to her craft resonate both in her therapeutic work and in her rich personal life, making her a cherished member of our family at MoveRx.
