Meet Mattie Hamilton
This month, we’re celebrating Mattie Hamilton, who showed us all what it means to keep moving forward, no matter the obstacle.
Earlier this year, she faced a major setback: a meniscus tear. Many would have thought that meant slowing down or even stepping away from fitness altogether. But with the support of MoveRx’s own Chuck Ilhi, she approached her recovery with grit, positivity, and trust in the process.
“Chuck was very instrumental in my recovery! His fitness-forward approach gave me the best opportunity to heal and stay active. He even dispelled the myth that surgery was necessary. Because of that, I was able to do more than I ever expected, including improving my chronic back issues, which was life-changing!”
This May, just months after her injury, Mattie completed her 4th Murph workout, a grueling workout that includes running two miles, along with pull-ups, push-ups, and squats.
“Honestly, I was unsure if my knee would recover enough to run that distance. But crossing that finish line reminded me I was stronger than I thought. I was super happy not only to do it, but to finish it!”
When asked about her biggest goal for the year, her answer was simple, yet powerful:
“I want to be as active as possible for as long as possible. I want to live long and die fast!”
Her journey is a reminder that setbacks don’t have to define us. They can be stepping stones to something greater.
Mattie, thank you for showing us what resilience looks like. You are an inspiration to the entire MoveRx team!
